Friends of Animal Rescue:
Tuesday, October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and is widely celebrated with a blessing of the animals. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals, and legend has it that Assisi could communicate with animals.

While the saint’s feast day and the blessing originated in the Catholic Church, Friends of Animal Rescue is inviting people of all faiths to join them for their Blessing of the Animals. Chaplain Sam Steele of Chapel by the Sea will be giving the blessing on Tuesday, October 4th at 5:30pm. The blessing will take place in front of Friends of Animal Rescue at 4908 Padre Blvd. (SPI).

All local pet owners are invited to bring their four-legged friends to Friends of Animal Rescue to participate in the blessing. Please remember to keep your pets on a leash throughout the duration of the event.
