City staff has been aggressive in the fight to minimize the mosquito count, but need your help!

People can protect themselves and their families from mosquito-borne diseases like West Nile and Zika. Here are a few helpful tips:

· Staying indoors at DUSK and DAWN when mosquitoes are most active.

· DRESS in long sleeves/pants, loose and light-colored clothing when indoors.

· DEFEND yourself by using insect repellent that contains DEET, Picaridin, or Eucalyptus.

· DRAIN all standing water around homes and businesses so mosquitoes can’t lay eggs and become pesky adult mosquitoes!

Pick up your free informational “Fight The Bite” bag at the Visitor’s Center, located at 610 Padre Blvd. (956) 761-6433.

One bag per family will be available while supplies last.
